Project Summary: In the fall of 1996 the K.C. Irving
Chemistry Center was opened on time and on budget. The building is home
to the university's chemistry department which over the years has gained
an international reputation for its research and development around the
world.
The total building size is approximately 25,000 sq.ft and contains a
number of teaching and research laboratories, lecture rooms, computer
laboratory, 150 seat lecture theatre as well as staff offices and
support areas. The building's electrical systems are designed to be
functional as well as utilize the latest energy efficient technology.
The building is completely wired for computer services and is linked to
the rest of the university campus via a fiber optic cable link to the
main university computer system.
